International Association of Space Entrepreneurs

PROMOTING GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN SPACE VENTURES

Burton Lee

Space Investment Summit 5, Los Angeles, CA - October 15

Initial information on the next Space Investment Summit is now available on their website at www.spaceinvestmentsummit.com. This is a good event to attend for those who want to network with entrepreneurs, venture finance professionals, and other experts in commercial space, space tourism, "NewSpace", etc.

Hey

seems that at last investors start having an interest in space business, or may be it's just that space start-up realized they need to evangelize the investors about their business ;-)

now I'm a bit confused is this event the same as the "Aerospace Venture Forum"? how different are they?

why would 2 event with seemingly similar focus would take place less than a month apart in the same state?

I'm a bit confused but it might just be coincidence after all when a good idea start floating in the air...

Great question! Essentially, one is an "event" and the other is a "service."

The Space Investment Summit is a semi-annual event organized by a coalition of various space-focused organizations and companies. Open to the general public, its purpose is to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, and thought leaders for a program that includes keynote speakers, panel discussions, entrepreneur presentations, and networking opportunities.

The Aerospace Venture Forum is a day-long workshop organized by Space Angels Network as part of its investment process for the accredited investors who make up its membership. Attendance is limited to accredited investors and presenting entrepreneurs, and there is no program other than a series of activities designed to help investors better assess new venture opportunities. The entire purpose is to facilitate the investment process.

With that in mind, perhaps it becomes clear that Space Angels Network relies on events like the SIS series (and the NewSpace conferences and the new Space Business Forum series and etc.) to educate the public and promote entrepreneurial space activity and investment opportunities. This helps drive deal flow and investor members into our network, which then provides the infrastructure to facilitate deal-making. Therefore, Space Angels Network fully supports SIS and encourages as many people as possible to attend their events.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion.
