Hello all,
I'm into the design of Space Stations and I'm a researcher within the field..who is interested in helping organise a Space Station Design Workshop? Let's get this happening!

What are we going to do that Bigelow hasn't already done?

GarageJet is the step-by-step, patent pending, low cost method to orbit.

Now is the time to start this contest, space station designs. There are companies building launchers, there are companies with launchers already developed. There is no shortage of launchers, only a shortage of man rated vehicles. This will only change when there are destinations in orbit that need the services of man rated launchers. The contest should focus on economic designs that include funcionality for R&D, space docks for construction and repair, and tourist sections with space for zero-g recreational activities. With good economical designs in hand, developers can look for anchor tenants, just as earth based developers do for malls and buildings.

Why are we concentrating on orbital infrastructure without having a reliable means to get it there and us back and forth to it.

Bigelow Aerospace has already orbitedtwo prototype inflatable stations, with plans for a full size station sometime between 2 and 4 years from now. Making one of those stations meet the qualifications for the prize might be a step backwards! I think the contest needs more features added, and it definately should not be an ISS 2.0, but something completely different...

Hey thats a great Idea, Lauching is very necessary step and second in the space ships, who can deliver the respective part to the ISS2.0 so, could we able to do it at optimum cost... well i am looking for the low cost carriar.

So the deign prize idea I like. We need to look to the future to show people the future of what can be done, how ever first we need to concentrate on building a family of launchers starting very small that are reliable as they grow in size so does our capability.

Idea is to build the New Space station for more collaborating Gov-Corporate groups. Sure there are entrepreneur who would be interested in investing the money.
