Greetings. I'm just now considering starting a business that merges my passion for space and my passion for the arts. I think I have a pretty good idea (don't we all), so I am drafting a business plan using my space market analysis and my art portfolio as a starting point. I hope this forum will help put a reality check on my grandiose thinking!
Some good software companies have specialized designers on staff to help make the user interface look and behave in a better and more intuitive way. Normally, one look is all it takes to tell if something was created by a developer vs. a designer. Are you thinking of something along these lines? Consulting, maybe to help engineers build more pleasing and easy-to-use space structures? Or are you thinking more along the lines of traditional art that is adapted to perform well and blend in with existing space structures?
Interesting combination Phil - and something that is becoming increasingly important. I've interacted with architects who have great ideas for space hotels for example. These concepts, to be feasible, need sound engineering design. Thus combining the two, along with some business genius could be solid. My engineering experience and space management background helps to identify new areas every day. I am currently doing a study on the use of space in video advertising and marketing - would be great to keep in touch. Good luck!
Hello Phill, Greetings from Greece.
That's a really good idea you got there!
Our company also has started some kind of art and space sector through E-shop (www.aratos.gr/eshop) using great satellite photos for posters etc.
I would really like to know more about your inspiration and opinions about that so maybe we could share and use some..
